 “The workforce development program was truly a life saver; I was at a standstill in life when I was introduced to the workforce development program. I was working a dead-end job and living paycheck to paycheck was in full effect and it was taking a toll on me. I’m getting to an age where I want to start a family and purchase a home and where I was working, I couldn’t even keep up with daily life expenses so that’s when I started searching for other career fields. I came across a trucking school and I was looking at how much it would cost, and the price wasn’t pretty, and I was starting to feel hopeless. I was thinking about asking my mom for money which I didn’t want to do because she has sacrificed so much for me, I was thinking about selling belongings and my vehicle or taking out a loan to be able to afford trucking school but it was all very stressful to think about and I was at a point where I almost gave up on even pursuing the new career because it seemed so out of reach. I called the trucking school and one of the instructors informed me about Workforce Development and how they can pay for the school, and I just need to go through the qualification process. My eyes lit up and I was dumbfounded that I never heard about this program before, but I immediately started doing my research and saw that it was true. Some people might get discouraged with the process, but it will be worth every second to get qualified, I was very emotional the day I was approved and I got a voucher that paid for my trucking school and now I just got hired making almost triple the amount of money I was at my previous job, from making around $30,000 to now around $80,000. The Workforce Development program has changed my life for the better and I will be forever grateful for the team that helped all the way through the process. This program could be your only chance to have the life you always wished for so stick through it and take advantage of the great people who is looking to lend a helping hand and provide the help you couldn’t get anywhere else.”
