My name is Juanita Alvarez, and I would like to share my experience with Workforce

Development, which has significantly impacted my professional growth. The

program has equipped me with essential skills in navigating labor market information,

encompassing industry sectors, occupations, and company research. Under the guidance

of my case manager, Mrs. June, I received invaluable support in crafting a refined and

professional resume, tailored to capture the attention of potential employers on platforms

such as CalJOBS, Indeed, and Linkedln. Additionally, Mrs. June's assistance in completing

employment applications in a professional manner have notably contributed to heightened

interest from employers and increased interview invitations.

One particularly advantageous aspect has been the personalized guidance I received in

tailoring cover letters to specific job openings and sending follow-up thank you letters via

email. The mock interview sessions have also been profoundly beneficial, enhancing my

confidence and refining my communication skills for professional presentations and

effective listening during interviews.

Furthermore, my case manager has offered continuous support in goal setting, skill ·

assessment, and mindset management to help me overcome barriers. This included

comprehensive skill set assessments to identify my interests within my field of work and

understand the expectations of potential employers, ultimately leading to increased self-reliance in securing long-term employment.

In addition to the professional development aspect, my case manager has provided

invaluable information on creating a household budget, understanding credit, and

developing saving plans to make informed financial decisions. Thanks to the assistance I

received from the Stanislaus County Workforce Development and my case manager, Mrs.

June, I am now gainfully employed as a full-time Workforce Specialist with Sierra Vista

Child and Family Services. I am exceptionally grateful for the support I have received and

the opportunities that have come my way through the program.
