Program: STANdOUT Conference

On July 26, 2024 SCWD held the STANdOUT Youth Conference. This dynamic event was tailor-made for aspiring young leaders eager to ignite their potential and drive meaningful change. There were 88 youth in attendance who were able to gain knowledge to help them now and in the future.

The day included keynote speakers, workshops, networking and expositions.

The Keynote speakers included: Jeremy Bates, the “Hope Dealer,” who shared his personal journey of overcoming adversity; Better for Bella, which is a non-profit started by a teenager who lost her sister to Fentanyl poising, shared the story with the help of Jennifer Marsh from BHRS; Dallas Plaa from SCOE, who discussed Career Technical Pathways; and lastly Melonie Albino from Mocse Credit Union who shared Financial Literacy.

In addition, there was an exposition room where youth can get information and additional resources. The booths consisted of Digital Nest, DRAIL, Behavioral Health and Recovery Services, Youth Workforce Development, Youth Career Services, and Modesto Junior College.
