YOUTH SERVICES
The Youth Workforce Development program is focused on assisting eligible youth ages 16-30 to develop the skills required to become the job candidates that employers look for. The YOUTH WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT program provides youth, with one or more significant barriers to employment, the resources to succeed and prosper in the workforce.
The Youth CAREER SERVICES program strives to assist out of school youth, ages 17-24, in breaking down the barriers to achieve a self-sustaining career, including referrals to specialized services. CAREER SERVICES provide a variety of educational services including educational mentoring, tutoring, high school diploma or equivalency preparation, and college prep workshops with the goal of obtaining educational credentials. CAREER SERVICES also assist with career counseling & guidance, job skills and resume preparation, on-the-job training, paid work experience, credentialed vocational training, and career placement.
Youth Workforce Development’s youth HOMELESS SERVICES will assist Out-of-School Youth (OSY) with temporary emergency housing services, food assistance and referrals to other Community-Based-Organizations (CBOs). HOMELESS SERVICES will provide tools to OSYs experiencing homelessness in all areas of Stanislaus County to create a plan for addressing barriers that prevent permanent housing success.
Youth Workforce Development’s youth DISABILITY SERVICES will provide out of school youth ages 17-24 with disabilities the individualized services, equipment, adaptive software and technology, and other goods or services to facilitate in achieving their employment and training goals. Youth DISABILITY SERVICES will provide the tools, assistance, and resources to help in the development of the necessary skills to prepare for and obtain competitive and integrated employment outcomes.
Youth Workforce Development’s youth ENGLISH LEARNER SERVICES will assist Out-of-School Youth (OSY) with specialized, intensive, and individualized services for language acquisition and training to prepare OSYs to enter the workforce. ENGLISH LEARNER SERVICES will facilitate access to English Learning classes and the development of a custom strategic plan for success by implementing a variety of learning tools such as hands-on activities, learning visuals, role-play, writing, reading, and completing mock job applications.
STEP (Student Training Employment Program) is a program that matches motivated young people ages 16-21 with paid work experience & job readiness training. Get paid to get ready for work and be matched with an internship!
