WHAT IS STEP?
STEP (Student Training Employment Program) is a program that matches motivated young people ages 16-21 with paid work experience & job readiness training. Get paid to get ready for work and be matched with an internship!
STEP provides:
- Job Readiness Training
- Up to 240 hours paid internship starting
at $16/hour - Support from Workforce Specialists
- Pre-enrollment in DOR
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
Students are eligible if they are:
- Between the ages of 16-21
- Enrolled in school or show intent to enroll
- Have a disability, note from medical provider, IEP or 504 services through school
- Desire to work part-time & have transportation
- Live in Stanislaus County

STEP is a collaboration between the Department of Rehabilitation and Stanislaus County Workforce Development funded 100% by Department of Rehabilitation WIOA Title IV funds through a grant in the amount of $393,075.70.
